This weekend had a 50/50 race where cash was paid out to the top 3 in each class. I qualified 5th finished 3rd in Open E Buggy.
I showed up early to give the car a shakedown. The track just recently got some new dirt and had it mixed in, so we had fresh dirt and a brand new layout to work with and a car with new parts. Upon talking to others who had already put in a few packs they advised me that traction was low and to run S or SS compound. Normally we would have been running a long wear compound. First pack on the car, it was really really good, it felt very different from the 16\'. The steering was much smoother and had much more mid to exit steering. The car had a bit of oversteer on exit but the track was slick. It was controllable. I tried several tire patterns and would stick to JConcepts Reflex in SS all throughout quals and mains.
